February 21, 2007 News:  In January 2007, MOTU’s newest incarnation of troubadours, and gypsies, rolled into the intimate venue of EastEnders for a two night engagement (January 12 and January 20). With an eclectic mix of acoustic & slide guitars, banjo, harmonica, bass, and drums, this latest version of the MOTU Blues Review warmed the chill of the evening with classic standards and MOTU originals. Interpretive, talented and visionary are all words that can be applied to the stringed fluency of Motu.  His playing is fluid, articulate and ripe with personality.  From the opening of Bukka White's "In My Time of Dyin'", Rich's smooth, almost lounge-y guitar captures the soul and essence of the works of as diverse range of composers as Jimi Hendrix, Curtis Mayfield, Bo Diddley, Elmore James, Neil Young and Hank Williams.  His unique feel, style and breadth are well worth the trip to which these audiences can readily attest. Motu offers a wide variety of music on this live CD, from his own compositions such as "Time You Should Be Movin' On" to an eclectic group of classic covers by the likes of Reverand Gary Davis, Curtis Mayfield and many more. Saturday November 17, 2007  8PM MOTU at NYC’s 169 Bar Presented by Lower East Side Productions (www.lesproductions.com).
